It's possible to be both kind and fierce these characteristics can both coexist, they do not have to cancel each other out. As a matter of fact I proclaim kindness is the new normal, the new fierce.

We live in a world with so much hostility which has manifested into the kind of hatred that has caused great harm to people. It appears to be fashionable to be rude, aggressive, condescending and negative in our opinions. Everyone has opinions, and healthy debate can be necessary when listening to many sides to a story. But the times we are living conversation and behaviors have been formed to alienate folks in words and deeds.

Kindness appears to be misunderstood, actually a bad wrap. In this world the thought is kindness equals weakness, but so very far from the truth. Kindness is fierce in modern times, it's really revolutionary !

I love to watch Kung Fu movies when the Master Teacher exude wisdom, calmness and humility. But don't get it twisted when an enemy would try to over take him , whop, the master would go into action. When the enemy of bad behavior, rudeness, negativity and hostility appears in life situations the most kind thing to do is to annihilate it. This is the example of kindness and fierce coexistence.

The Bible describes Jesus as the Lion and the Lamb, expressing love, kindness humility and power. Actually humility is fierce in a society that rewards aggression and unkindness. We can too be fierce and kind. I submit that these qualities are synonymous and necessary as we move into a society that is moving like the speed of light in our technological advances. Moving forward technically is beautiful, but losing basic human qualities is stepping back into darker times on the planet.
